For since by man came death, by Man also came the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive. But each one in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, afterward those who are Christ’s at His coming. (1 Corinthians 15:21–23)
Christ, who after being struck, mocked, stretched upon a cross until death...then later placed inside His buried tomb to rest, was resurrected on the third day!
He came as the perfect sacrifice for man's sin, to reconcile us back to the Father, as only a perfect Lamb without spot nor blemish could do. He died, so we would not have to!
