Christ's Seven Last Sayings give us powerful insight into His thoughts as He took all the sin of mankind upon Himself. With these words He forgives His enemies, forgives the remorseful thief, cries out to God, and declares the end of His earthly life.

"Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do....Truly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise…. Woman, behold thy son….My God, my God, why have You forsaken Me?….I thirst….It is finished….Father, into Thy hands I commend My spirit."
